Associate Attorney Position – Part Time, Flexible, and Remote

Introduction:

The Michaud Law Group LLC (MLG) is a well-respected and fast-growing law firm based in Connecticut and is active in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire. MLG is quickly expanding and has an immediate need for an Associate Attorney to work on a part time, flexible, remote, and hourly basis. MLG focuses exclusively on renewable and clean energy regulatory, policy, transactional, and utility-scale project development matters. MLG’s clients include large national and international renewable and clean energy investment and project development companies, cities, towns, school districts, real estate development companies, and property owners. Type of Legal Work:

Legal work at MLG is intelligent, creative, cutting edge and focuses on renewable and clean energy regulatory monitoring and advocacy before state regulatory and environmental agencies in New England. MLG’s primary goal is to be well-versed on all state and regulatory rules, law, policies, incentive programs, and trends affecting clean and renewable energy projects. MLG’s attorneys also monitor any proposed legislation affecting clean and renewable energy project development and advocate clean and renewable energy project development before state legislative bodies in New England. In addition, MLG focuses on complex renewable and clean energy transactional work in connection with renewable and clean energy project development including securing clean and renewable energy project site control agreements to securing clean and renewable energy project incentives and offtake contracts to project acquisition transactions.

Career Path:

The right attorney will grow with MLG as the firm continues to grow. The selected attorney can reside anywhere in New England and work virtually from a remote location. However, the selected candidate must be willing to travel within New England occasionally as needed and travel to Connecticut at least once a month for in-person attorney team meetings – once the COVID-19 Pandemic ends and it is safe to meet in-person.

Qualities Sought:

The ideal candidate will be a hardworking, mature, dependable, dedicated, flexible, creative, and a self-starter. The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated interest and passion for renewable and clean energy regulatory, policy, and hands-on project development work. The selected candidate will be admitted to practice law in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, or New Hampshire. This is a part time, flexible, and remote Associate Attorney Position but may grow to a full-time position for the right person.

Compensation:

Initially, the position will be part-time (up to 30 hours per week) and will pay $40.00 per hour plus a discretionary annual bonus. Legal malpractice insurance coverage is provided by the firm.
